Air Travel
If RIC airport has expensive fares, you can often find cheaper fares into Hampton, VA (65  min.),  Norfolk, VA (75 min.), Dulles (90 min.), or BWI (2hrs)—times do not assume heavy traffic.  From RIC airport, follow the directions below for coming from the East (on I-64).

Driving to the hotel  (7007 W. Broad St.)

  • From I-95 or From I-64 going west:
    Do not take 295 or the by-bass to 295! If you are ever on 295, you are headed out of your way.  From I-95 go into Richmond and take Exit 79 onto I-64 West.  This is also the exit for 195—make sure you veer to the right after exiting to avoid 195 and to stay on I-64 W. Go approximately 3 miles. Take Exit 183-C for Broad Street West.  Proceed straight on Broad Street for approximately two blocks. You will see K-mart on your right and Famous Daves and Sheetz on your left. The Best Western is behind the bbq restaurant on the left side of Broad, but you have to go up a block, turn left, and turn left again into the parking lot.
  • From the I-64 going east:
    Take Exit 183. Stay to the right and take the Glenside Drive exit, which stops at the light. Turn left at the light onto Glenside Drive. Make a left at the next light onto West Broad Street (going west).  Proceed straight on Broad Street for approximately two blocks.   You will see K-mart on your right and Famous Daves and Sheetz on your left. The Best Western is behind the bbq restaurant on the left side of Broad, but you have to go up a block, turn left, and turn left again into the parking lot.
  • From the University of Richmond:
    From the parking lot off Ryland Circle (between Jepson and the Business School), make a left onto Gateway Road. Make the second left onto Campus Drive. Make the right onto Boatwright Drive. Turn left onto Three Chopt Road. Stay on Three Chopt through Patterson (you will see a Ukrops on your left). At the second light, take the right turn yield onto Glenside (also known as Horsepen). Stay on Glenside down the hill, through Forest, and over I-64. Turn left onto Broad Street West.  Proceed straight on Broad Street for approximately two blocks. You will see K-mart on your right and Famous Daves and Sheetz on your left.  The Best Western is behind the bbq restaurant on the left side of Broad, but you have to go up a block, turn left, and turn left again into the parking lot.

Driving to the University of Richmond

  • From the hotel:
    From the Best Western turn right onto Broad Street and stay in the right lane.  Take the first right turn onto Glenside. Drive to the fourth or fifth traffic light to Three Chopt Road (go past Monument). Turn left on Three Chopt. Continue straight through Patterson for 8/10 mile. Turn right onto Boatwright Drive at the sign for UR (there is no light at Boatright—it is approximately .5 mile after the traffic signal).  At the bottom of the hill, make a left onto Campus Drive. Make the first right onto Gateway Road and veer toward the left. To get to the tournament headquarters, take the right onto Ryland Circle immediately past the Business School and park in the parking lots on your left and then walk to the front of Ryland.
  • From I-64:
    Take Exit 183/Glenside Drive south. Continue south on Glenside Drive to the fourth traffic light (Three Chopt Road). Turn left on Three Chopt. Continue straight through Patterson for 8/10 mile.     Take Exit 79 off I-95 to I-64 west continue west on I-64. Take Exit 183-A/Glenside Drive south. Continue south on Glenside Drive to the fifth traffic light (Three Chopt Road). Turn left on Three Chopt. Continue straight for 8/10 mile. Turn right onto Boatwright Drive (approximately .5 mile after the traffic signal). At the bottom of the hill, make a left onto Campus Drive. Make the first right onto Gateway Road and veer toward the left. To get to the tournament headquarters, take the right onto Ryland Circle immediately past the Business School and park in the parking lots on your left and then walk to the front of Ryland.
  • From I-64:
    Going West on I-64. As you approach the city of Richmond, I-64 West merges with I-95 North. Take I-95 North to exit 79 back onto I-64 West. Take Exit 183-A/Glenside Drive south. Continue south on Glenside Drive to the fifth traffic light (Three Chopt Road). Turn left on Three Chopt. Continue straight for 8/10 mile.
