Registration

Registration will be held Friday evening in the Best Western (room tba) from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.  Late registration is on campus Saturday morning (7:15 a.m.). Send an email (kkuswa@richmond.edu) confirming your teams and judges on Friday night if you cannot make registration. Campus maps will be available at registration and online. You can park in the commuter and faculty lots behind the School of Business and Ryland. We will have parking passes for you at registration. Make sure you pick up parking passes for all your vehicles and your judges’ vehicles.

Entries, Fees & Judging (NEW FEE STRUCTURE)
We have a $40 entry fee per person.  We have an additional $120 judging fee for each uncovered team (1 team requires four prelims and at least 1 elim of judging to be covered).  We encourage you to bring your own judges.  Keep in mind that each covered team MUST have a judge available on Monday morning.  That judge must also be available to judge subsequent rounds on Monday if the judge’s team clears.

Observers: The trend to charge for observers is necessary to keep food costs manageable and to make sure that the judges and participants are adequately fed.  Observers (including judges with less than a 3-round commitment) will be charged $45.

A drop fee of $50 per team will be assessed for drops after Wed. at 5:00 p.m.  Drop fees after 7:30 p.m. Friday double.

In the spirit of encouraging new debate, we will continue to reduce entry fees for new programs or programs with financial hardships.  We also have a very limited amount of free housing available. Please contact us no later than Sept. 20th if you have these needs—the earlier, the better. Priority will be given to those teams with smaller budgets traveling from the most distant locations.

ENTRIES ARE DUE ON DEBATER RESULTS (on-line preferred) OR E-MAIL, NO LATER THAN TUESDAY before the tournament. If you register after Oct. 1st, you may not have internet access while on campus.
